Coming Home (what a saga)

What a handsome dad!
Note the abundant drool!

MAN, OH MAN!: So, let me set the scene. Jade was born on the evening of the 29th without a single complication or issue. The labor was speedy, she was perfect, I felt great. We had to share a postpartum room so it was tough to get any rest that night. We insisted on getting out of there the next day. And Kaiser, happy to get a free bed, was happy to oblige. We returned home that evening and had a lovely gathering with Veenu Masi, Uncle Ivan, Nana, Nani, and BIG Brother JASPER RUMI!!! We hit the hay early, had a typical newborn night and woke to a second morning in a row of heavy rain. Tim stepped out of bed and immediately felt some wet carpet. Oh crud! Very, very, very long story short, our room and Jade's room proceeded to flood that day and the next and the next until the rain stopped. Our very new house was a lemon. And now we had a day old baby and were out half of our house. Poor us, poor Jade, and poor Jasper who now had to share his floor with us. For the next 10 weeks (my entire maternity leave, REPEAT: my entire maternity leave) our house was out of commission or under construction. I lived through another foundation being built along with new drainage, interior construction, and new hardwood floors being installed - ALL this with one, very unhappy, uncomfortable, gassy baby.
